Garlic Chocolate Chip Cookies

After dinner tonight, I told Bob, "I think some chocolate chip cookies are in order!" So I quickly whipped up a batch. Bob went to put the kids in the tub, and I started on the dishes. When the timer rang after ten minutes, I went over to the oven, opened the door and was greeted with -not the wonderful smell of fresh-baking chocolate chip cookies, but instead the over-powering smell of garlic. I thought, "Wow, did I accidentally leave some garlic on the cookie sheet from the last time I made garlic bread???" But I realized it must have been one of our upstairs or downstairs neighbors cooking dinner. Bob came out of the bathroom and promptly crinkled his nose at the surprising smell coming from the vicintity of the oven. As I finished the dishes, I continued to smell the various stages of their dinner. Bummer...part of the disadvantage of living right on top and below other people. No yummy chocolate chip cookie smell for us. Thankfully they tasted great! ;)
